1) Who we are
Music and Meditation Santa Barbara (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a concert series and community project based in Santa Barbara, California. We operate musicandmeditationsb.com to share event information, sell/route tickets, and keep our audience informed.

2) What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal data we collect on this website, how and why we use it, and your choices. It applies to this site only; when you use third-party services (e.g., Eventbrite), their privacy policies also apply.

3) Data we collect and why

A. Site usage & security

  • Technical data (IP address, browser type/version, device info, pages viewed, time on page) for performance, analytics, and security (e.g., spam and fraud prevention).
  • Security services: Our forms may be protected by Google reCAPTCHA. This helps prevent abuse and is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms.

B. Forms & communications

  • Contact forms (Elementor): name, email, message, and any info you choose to include. Used to reply and manage inquiries.
  • Newsletter sign-ups (MailPoet / WordPress): name and email to send updates you request. You can unsubscribe anytime via the link in each email.

C. Ticketing & payments (handled by Eventbrite)

  • When you click “Get Tickets,” you are taken to Eventbrite (and/or their payment processors like Stripe). Event details, payment info, and attendee data are processed under Eventbrite’s privacy policy and terms. We receive attendee reports (e.g., name, email, ticket type) to manage the event (check-in, updates, logistics).

D. Comments & profiles (if enabled)

  • Comments: If comments are enabled, we collect the data shown in the comment form, plus your IP address and browser user agent to help spam detection.
  • Gravatar: An anonymized string (hash) from your email may be sent to Gravatar to check if you use it. After approval, your profile image may appear with your comment. See Automattic’s privacy policy for Gravatar.

E. Media you upload (if enabled)

  • If you upload images, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images on the site.

4) Cookies
Essential cookies Used to keep the site running (e.g., load balancing, security, form submissions).

  • Preference & session cookies
  • If you leave a comment (when enabled), you may opt-in to save your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience (typically lasts up to 1 year).
  • When you log in (for site editors/admins), we set cookies to save login info and screen preferences. Login cookies usually last up to 2 days; screen options up to 1 year. “Remember Me” can keep login for ~2 weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.
  • If you edit or publish an article (site editors/admins), an additional cookie saves the post ID of the edited article (expires after ~1 day).
  • Third-party cookies
  • Eventbrite (ticketing), MailPoet (email delivery/engagement), and embedded platforms (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram) may set their own cookies when you interact with their content.
  • You can control cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may impact site functionality.

5) Embedded content from other websites
Pages may include embedded content (videos, players, posts, etc.). Embedded content behaves as if you visit the source site directly. Those sites may collect data, use cookies, and track interactions—especially if you’re logged into their service.

  • Eventbrite (ticketing/attendee management)
  • MailPoet or similar (newsletter delivery & list management)
  • reCAPTCHA / Google (spam & abuse prevention)

We do not sell your personal information.

7) How long we retain your data

  • Contact form entries: kept as long as needed to handle your request and for basic record-keeping (e.g., customer service).
  • Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe or we delete inactive lists.
  • Comments (if enabled): retained indefinitely to recognize and approve follow-ups automatically.
